In reference to yesterday‘s post, it occurs to me that crawling up hills seems to be sort of a habit in these parts… This shot was taken at the halfmarathon and shows four brave people taking on Stiftsweg, also nicknamed Stift d’Huez or The Wall. (why? read here).
I had a couple of other shadows intentionally looked-for and carefully planned-out – and then this spontaneous shot came along in a split second. I guess it goes to show that thinking about the perfect angle and stuff is all well as long as you don’t miss that moment. Getting timing and technique balanced is probably the art to master.
Happy theme day everyone!
I hope this shot gives an idea of how steep these climbs are. Neverthelesse, the atmosphere along the race was great, the weather was perfect (slightly overcast, not too hot), and standing among the crowd made me think: I wish I had registered in time. Instead, I was playing water carrier for my dad. That was fun, too, and he really did well.
The run was of course not Saturday, but Sunday.
Against the daily photo rules, here’s a second shot.
